I started writing Willie Chaff twenty years ago when I worked as an elementary substitute teacher. After reading my class several chapters, I put the unfinished manuscript into a drawer and forgot about it until I ran into one of my former students, who now teaches second grade. She remembered the story and wanted to read it to her class. Her request prompted me to finish the book.

Today, I work for a real estate company. My husband, Richard, and I live in Oxford, Alabama. We have two grown daughters and two grandsons.
