Biography:

Born in Rosslyn Farms, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Margaret Helm graduated from Smith College in 1942 and spent WWII years operating Red Cross Service Clubs for the GIs in North Africa, Corsica, and France. Her work has always been with youngsters. As a Girl Scout Trainer, Camp Counselor, Private School Physical Education Teacher, and Second-Grade Teacher in the Penn-Delco school district in Aston, PA. During this period she was known as Margaret Hurlburt, wife of Clayton L. Hulrburt. In retirement she was appointed to the PA State Board of Education by Governor Thornburgh where she served five years. At the age of 89, she has written this book filled with amusing happenings in her classrooms over the years. Now Margaret Light, she lives in Lansdowne, PA with her husband, Fred.
