After spending the first fifteen years of her childhood among the mosses and creeks of her native Beaufort, South Carolina, Amy Jenkins Bassett lived in New York City and San Francisco before finally wending home to stay. A high school English teacher, Ms. Bassett has also written, directed and produced two plays, Pentimento, and A Dream Deferred. She enjoys reading, writing, listening to music, traveling, and dancing.
