The Author, who has coached 26 grade school soccer teams since 1983, was born on August 16th in 1944 and raised in DeKalb, Illinois. The son of Charles D. and Antonia J. Farley, and is the middle sibling of 9 children. He attended St. Mary’s Grade School, Huntley Middle School, and DeKalb High School. He left De Kalb to attend Kendall Jr. College in Evanston, Ill. From there he attended “Miramar”, Divine Word Seminary in Duxbury, Mass. On July 7th, 1967 Mr. Farley became Pvt Farley, U. S. Army. He served as a Platoon Sgt. for the 101st Airborne. Div. in Viet Nam, 1968 and 1969. Life member charter chapter of VietNOW in Rockford, IL. In 1976 He graduated from N. I. U. of DeKalb. He has 4 fantastic children and 7 fantastic Grand children as of January, 2011.
