Laurie Nichol ‘Nic’ Burks was raised and currently resides in West Virginia. After graduating from Fairmont State with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice in 1996, she went on to seek a career in law enforcement, where she has worked for the last 15 years. A childhood memory inspired her to write the story of Evren Woods. She lives with her son and their faithful, furry, four-legged companion, who goes by the name of Shadow.
