Biography:

Paula G. Rubel and Abraham Rosman are Professors Emeriti of Anthropology at Barnard College and Columbia.University. They have done anthropological research in Iran, Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea. Their research on collecting has continued for many years. They have interviewed many participants in the world of Tribal Art and have gone to the locations where Tribal Art is exchanged from garage sales and flea markets to fancy antique and Tribal Art shows, from country auctions to Sotheby’s and Christie’s auctions in the United States and abroad. They have also explored the venues of Black Memorabilia and Disneyana.
