S.J. Simone was brought up on Long Island with both parents, two siblings, and a variety of pets.

She was graduated from college at nineteen and through the years worked as a secretary to an icon in the Broadway theatre world, as a teacher in New York City elementary schools, and, after having earned a Master degree, as a Speech and Language Pathologist.

A thread of melancholy was woven throughout her life until she at last married for love. It was her husband’s untimely death that led her to the journey recounted in this book.
