Growing up with two, much younger sisters, I learned to keep busy exploring my neighborhood, trying to read every book in the Glenolden Library, and rescuing animals.
Our home was open to a cat, dogs, fish, a box turtle, minnows and frogs.
Those experiences influenced my relationships, choices, and how I looked at the world. The first one to move in with me as a young adult was a beautiful German shepherd named Sasha.
Through raising children and teaching them, animals have fostered responsibility, given unconditional love, and lightened the stresses of everyday life. To this day, so many treasured memories remain with me.
