Joseph R.Kozenczak, a private investigator in Chicago, Illinois, Passed away May 13, 2015. He Was the Chief of Police for the City of Des Plaines, Illinois and also served as the Chief of Detectives. Mr.Kozenczak was the arresting officer in the Gacy serial murder investigation. He co-authored the book The Chicago Killer: The Hunt for Serial Killer John Wayne Gacy, an account of the arrest of Gacy in 1978. Kozenczak was a graduate of the FBI National Academy,Quantico, Virginia. He received an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science & Administration from Triton College, River Grove, Illinois, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, and a Master of Public Administration from Roosevelt University, Chicago.
