The McCrery-Pomeroy SSDI Solutions Initiative was formed in 2014 with the purpose of identifying practical policy changes to improve the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program and other services to people with disabilities. The Initiative solicited ideas in a number of areas related to the SSDI program, culminating in a conference where authors presented to discussants and attendees. The SSDI Solutions Initiative is co-chaired by former Congressmen Earl Pomeroy (D-ND) and Jim McCrery (R-LA), who are supported by a staff and Advisory Council of experts. The Initiative is a project of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.
