Dwana Horner was born in Brimerton, Washington in 1943, and grew up in New Orleans Louisiana. She spent one year in a state college and three years as part of the Job Corps in the early 60's where she earned a degree in Cosmetology. Dwana Horner wrote this short story to help eradicate a painful and traumatic event that can happen to any child. She wrote it in the only way she could, through the eyes of a child. Dwana is currently married and is living a quiet life. This story is one way she deals with her past.
