Richard Standring is retired after a 30-year career in advertising and magazine publishing. During that same period, he maintained a commercial pilot’s license and owned a variety of aircraft. His current pastimes are golf, gardening and writing.

He also writes poetry, essays and short stories. He’s an active member of the Cookeville Creative Writer’s Assn. where he was selected Writer of the Year in 2001. His first novel, Hustle, is a tribute to the legends in the Cleveland advertising community in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
