I served in the US Navy on board the Aircraft Carrier USS Yorktown CVS 10 and the USS Lake Champlain CVS 39 during the Vietnam War Era. I was a flight deck director at the time. I was Honorably Discharged from the US Navy and went on to be a police officer in the City of New Bedford. I started out as a patrolman, then I was transferred to the Narcotics division before I retired. Before becoming a police officer I worked in Corrections at Bridgewater State Hospital with the criminally insane and also worked as a Corrections Officer at Norfolk State Prison.

I am married to Sandra Nichols and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. I graduated from Bristol Community College with an Associates Degree in Police Science.
