Unhappy? Can't move beyond your past? Tend to complain and get down on yourself and others? Feeling unlovable and less than beautiful? Frequently having a bad hair day - emotionally speaking? Get some Hairapy! Using her own experience and that of numerous salon clients, Aura Mae covers such topics as choosing your attitude, parenting, setting boundaries, letting go of anger and past trauma, self-acceptance, and the need for kindness and compromise in relationships. This is not your average self-help book. It is the honest kick in the posterior you need to move from denial to self-awareness and from self-pity to interpersonal responsibility. If you aren't happy, it IS your fault!

I laughed, I cried and then I laughed some more! What an interesting way to look at life...through the eyes of your "hairapist." Aura Mae really took what she knows best and ran with it! It's a wonderful book full of wit and incite with a "tell it like it is" attitude! I bought extra copies for friends and family! Buy this book...you will be glad you did!

Been There, Done That , 11/01/2005

How refreshing to read a self-help book from someone who's been there and had some experience. Too often, self-help books are written by an "authority" who has never experienced the dilemma being discussed. This marvelous book is written in every day language to help the reader see what's blocking his/her happiness. Aura Mae uses humor to invite all of us to stop blaming others and get on with a more rewarding life.

  Just "do" it! , 11/29/2005

You can't get much more down to earth than the way Aura Mae tells it like it is. The media would have us all believe that the summit of life is to be a teen glam queen (replete with their tabloid soap-opera problems). Aura Mae knows a LOT about beauty, and reminds us how to find it within ourselves. Even better=--it's a LOT of FUN to read!

  Make a diference , 01/02/2006

I was sitting at my local salon in Springfield, MA waiting for my color to process, when the salon owner received a phone call. As she hangs up the phone she has tears in her eyes and proceeds to tell us what the call was about. Apparently a client of hers was going through a difficult time and had recently been in to see her. This client simply called to tell the salon owner thank you. Thank you for being a wonderful stylist, for making me feel better about myself, for being a great listener and an even better person. That from her last trip to the salon, she had a completly different perspective on her life, from the inside out. As I am sitting here listening to this I reach into my bag and pull out your book. I had not yet read the book and I read the back cover...I then read it aloud to the salon...they can't even believe how incredibly in-sync this book is to what is unfolding in front of our eyes. I went home from the salon and currled up with your book and read it cover to cover. I think it is great and teaches us that just by doing the things we love to do every day that we can make a difference in people's lives. I am purchasing two copies of your book for the girls at the salon! Thanks for the Hairapy!
