Abstract:
In 1921, a “trial of the century” rocked Birmingham, Alabama. On trial was a Methodist minister, who had fatally shot a Catholic priest. The minister accused the priest of improperly performing a wedding ceremony uniting the minister’s daughter with a dark-skinned Puerto Rican man more than twice her age. The minister’s lead attorney was later appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Reviewer: Don Levans
Joe did a great job of researching the FACTS related to an important event that occured in the deep South. He then moulds it into a story that demands that you read it "without putting it down" --- It clearly lays out not only the racial tensions of those early years, but also the tensions between the Protestant and Cathalic faiths. This book will be of special interest to anyone, especially anyone who is Southern, Catholic or Protestant.
