Joe Schrantz and his wife, Dorothy, live in a Chicago suburb. They have seven daughters and twenty-three grandchildren. He is a retired writer/editor, having worked on newspapers and magazines. In addition to writing books, he volunteers at an arboretum, sings in several church groups, and participates in two reading clubs, a laughing club, and a readers’ theater. He has had roles in several plays.
