Abstract:
This is Part II in the trilogy of Boo Gretzel. The story begins in 1939 and tells how Boo lives in four foster homes in Phoenix, is sent to Boys Town in 1945 (where he becomes mayor), serves in the Navy, graduates from the University of Notre Dame, marries, and becomes a father and grandfather. Part I in the trilogy, Boo’s Convent, relates how Boo, his sister, and brother live in that Phoenix Convent from 1933 to 1939. Most names have been changed to protect anonymity.
