The Tao of Risk
The first rule for the cautious leaper: You can jump farther than you think.
The first rule for the happy leaper: It will take more leaps than you think.
The Father’s Tao
By teaching your son to lift things that are heavy, you are showing him that he is weak.
By walking him through that which is difficult, you are teaching him that the path is not easy.
By teaching him the methods of how to build, you are showing him that he has much to learn.
The honor of a father is not a famous son. The honor of a father is a son with strong hands, a strong mind, and humble heart.
Temptations
Though you battle with temptations, you must also give thanks for them.
For the temptation to spend, does not come to the man with an empty purse.
The temptation of gluttony does not come to the man without food.
The temptation of sloth does not come to the laborer in the field.
The temptation of adultery does not come to the unsightly.
The temptation to flee does not come to those who are trapped.
Let each battle with temptation begin and end with a bow of respect.
Your Neighbor
Strive to make your neighbor a welcome member of the group.
For if he does not find kindness, he may turn to hate.
If he is unable to contribute, he may seek to destroy.
If he is called a fool, his talents may never be known.
If he is mocked, his sorrow may forever inhibit him.
