As I began to awaken, I had a feeling of unreality. Where was I? Sitting up, I scratched my head and yawned. I put my shoes on and got up. Out of curiosity I walked over to my old dresser. Mama had faithfully kept all of my boyhood treasures, including the carvings Grandpa had made for me. His handiwork was incredible. He had carved five animals for me. The unicorn made its home in my hospital office. On the dresser were a dragon, a proud stallion and a tiny little lamb looking up at its mother. I sucked in my breath as I looked at the sixth one. There before me sat a perfect likeness of Nugget. When did you carve this, Grandpa? Then I saw the gold coin sitting in front of the figure. That’s what started all the trouble.
