Their only child, Dennis, was born in 1943. In 1946 the author contracted poliomyelitis with almost total paralysis. For four years she was hospitalized, totally dependent on an “iron lung” for breathing. Later, she used a portable respirator to enable her to breathe. Her story takes us through years of interesting experiences , her determination to live and to be happy and useful. An extraordinary love story.
