Biography:
The author, Floy Schoenfelder was born in 1919 in Ida Grove, Iowa. She moved with her family to a farm near Millboro, South Dakota at age six months. After graduating from high school in Rapid City, South Dakota, she married Bud Schoenfelder. She became a hair stylist. The author contracted poliomyelitis in 1946 when their son, Dennis, was three years old. She suddenly found herself encased in an iron lung, unable to draw a breath on her own. Her autobiography, IT’S MORNING AGAIN, covers fifty years of coping with near total paralysis.
