Abstract:
A collection of 84 poems by Wanda Weiskopf, with 15 sketches by Arizona artist Kay M. Burke, is the second collection by the poet. Her Native American poems are especially memorable, and the last section includes poems from the northwest, like the haunting “Song of the Wild Geese.” The award-winning title poem is introspective and asks us to follow the progress of the river from its “embryonic source to that final destiny,” when it will become “part of the cycle of waves and clouds and rain.” For all who love poetry, this collection, like her first, is sure to be another one “of pure joy.”
