Abstract:
Dear Editor: is a fragmented history of glamorous Aspen, Colorado at the turn of the twenty-first century as told by eighteen fictitious characters through 180 published letters to the editors of the local newspapers. The story is a sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant examination of the oftentimes self-absorbed town that many rich, famous, and ordinary people call home. Politics and posturing are the name of the game in this marvelous fusion of fiction and reality. The town’s citizenry push the story along while the anonymous author pulls them in for a view through the eyes of a fourth generation Aspenite.
