Abstract:
Sandi and David Burns vacation in Seamen’s Cove every summer with their grandparents. This summer’s fun is interrupted by the disappearance of their new friend, Clarence Rockefeller III, known as Buff. Has Clarence run away due to unhappiness at home or has someone snatched him from their midst? Spotting some ne’er-do-wells around town, Aunt Biddie, Miss Christy and the children are not so sure. Who are the men who come to fish and don’t fish? Sandi, David and friends, Charlie and Katie Longsetter search town, listen for clues in Seamen’s Shanty and investigate mysterious noises in the woods. Where is Buff?
