The Pied Piper Project: Russia's Child , 11/23/2004
Reviewer: Dana Link
If you’re looking for intrigue, suspense and adventure, interwoven with strong and believable characters, Russia’s Child is a must read. Whitchurch does an excellent job of drawing you into Eddie’s story from the very beginning and creating a cast of supporting characters you want to meet in real life. While I couldn’t exactly cheer for the “bad guys,” he provided explanations for their actions that made them as human as the “good guys.” What makes this book stand out from many in the same genre is the very human and “every day” elements that mix with the suspense, to make the entire story a believable look into the life of an individual who lives an extraordinary life, from childhood to maturity. Let’s hope the author has another book in the works, as he could quickly become a favorite I look for in the future.

"THE PIPED PIPER PROJECT" , 11/24/2004
Reviewer: Jean Nowak
I have read many novels and listened to many on tape and this one really got my attention. I couldn't put it down from the first chapter. The characters got to be so real in my mind, as the author had a unique way of making that happen. I rarely cry watching a movie, let alone reading a book, but I will admit, this "Piped Piper" had me welling up in tears at a couple of points..His knowlege and description of so many subjects impressed me...I will be searching the web, libraries and book stores for more novels by D.E.Whitchurch III. I would like to see the author write sequels, as there are so many (as I see it) unwritten plots and stories that can merge from this one.

  Pied Piper Project , 11/28/2004

Where do I begin, the "Pied Piper Project" was an amazing book. In a very quick amount of time you are drawn into the characters lives and what they are going through. The characters are very personable, they could be your friend down the street, or your own brother or sister. One thing I found rather nice was that the characters have flaws and problems instead of being almost perfect, it makes the characters a little more realistic. This was a book I just could not put down, I read it in 12 hours. I am someone who typically reads Sci-Fi, but I believe that if I could find more authors like Mr. Whitchurch, I would definitely read more books of this nature. I will be waiting for Mr. Whitchurch to come out with another book so I can enjoy another amazing story.

The Pied Piper Project , 12/03/2004
Reviewer: Loberta Gwin
The book was fast moving and certainly kept your interest, especially when you knew a lot of the places it mentioned. A lot of research was done in parts of the U.S. and other countries. I really liked the part when Cindy was on her way north to the sheep ranch and she stopped in Laytonville. How she showed those three fellows, not to mess with her. I wasn't too fond of some of the language, but whom am I to criticise the book, as it was a good story. As a historian and author, the book was meaningful to me.

  Pied Piper Project=Outstanding , 12/09/2004
Reviewer: P. Black
The Pied Piper Project is a damn good book. The characters are very believable and you get sucked in to their lives quickly. The book has a great, solid story line that if full of emotion. I laughed throughout the book. The characters portrayed are extreemly acurate for the type of people they are, you never know what they will say next. I recommend this book to everybody. I can't wait for the others!

  Imaginative and stimulating , 12/13/2004
Reviewer: Debra Simmons
Even though I found the writing somewhat unpolished, the work was almost impossible to put down. The read was fast paced, and had incredibly believable characters. Some of the language was a bit strong at times, but never seemed gratuitous. In time I expect to see this author’s name next to Clancey, Cussler, Griffen, and other great story tellers of today.

Reviewer: Pat Peyton
Both my husband and I read this book and could hardly put it down. It's the type of book we enjoy - fiction in the real world. We especially like the attention to detail that lets you follow the characters through their lives. We are looking forward to sequels. Keep up the good work.

  Fun Book , 12/20/2004
Reviewer: Casey McClain
What a fun book to read on a weekend! This book will take you from the political intrigues in Washinton,DC to the "anything goes" attitudes in the mountains and coast of Northern California, then to the depressing dungeons of Siberia, with all the characters that are as diverse as the settings. This is a hard book to put down.

  Rough Draft ? , 12/30/2004

I just finished reading the "The Pied Piper Project: Russia's Child" and I loved it. I read it in three days, and I have not been that sucked into a book since "Without Remorse." I feel that D.E. Whitchurch III has great potential and great plot ideas. However I think "Pied Piper" needs to be revised, and fixing the numorous amount of errors and typos and perhapse clear some things up.

I review the author. We were on our way to Nebraska to visit out children and got stranded on freeway 24 along with a hundred other travelers. Behind me was an 18 wheeler. I got out of my car to talk to a few of the other people and I started to talk to this truck driver. He was busy working on a lap top. I learned he was an author and showed me his latest book which was "Pied Piper Project "Russia's Child". Told me about it. I bought 3 autographed copies from Mr. D.E. Whitchurch, III personally. I great thrill indeed. He is a very interesting gentleman. Can't wait to read the one he was working on when I met him.

This was a damn great book I would recommend it to anyone with or without an imagination. I can't wait to see others from this author. I purchased this book directly from him one day at work and was invited to a book signing to show my support for the book. I only wish I could know more about what happened to Richard and Matt

Reviewer: Arthur Anthony
Hard to believe that an 18-wheel driver put this addictive novel (his first) together while logging on some 240,000 miles/year about the country. A prolific mind composing with prolific ease. Prime talent for a Hollywood scripter. I'm looking forward to more writings by Whitchurch.

Great job. Could hardly put it down. Read it in 3 days. I liked how he used some of his own experiences and local west coast areas. Enjoyed his sayings. A few were familiar and I am still thinking of one of them several times a day.I am looking forward to more books by this author.

  Don't Pick It Up! , 02/01/2005
Reviewer: MMoore
Don't dare pick this book up unless you have the time to finish it! The author draws you into a web of characters and the details of their lives with such intrigue that within the first few chapters...you're caught. You will want to finish reading the story as fast as you can. I can't wait for future books as I know the author's talent will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for more each time.

I enjoyed the book, finding myself wondering if this really could be true. It held my attention, which is something a story must do in the first few pages. Good job.

Start Reading in Early in the Evening... , 02/09/2005
Reviewer: Richard M. Sale
...because you won't be able to put it down until you've finished! Intriguing, fast-paced yet the author takes time to give you glimpses into each character's background, thoughts, personality and values throughout the book. Reading through descriptions of events and the superbly written dialog, you'll get to know, and know well, each of his 15 or so key characters. The author's background and interest in the inner workings of our government (and certain foreign governments and their operatives) make this "fiction" highly believable and the story development quite plausible. Hard to believe it's this author's first novel! Can't wait for the MOVIE...and the sequel!!!

I so enjoyed Mr. Whitchurch's book. The characters evolved into such vital personalities. Vorkuta, Russia was so easy to see in my mind's eye. Eddie really was one of the very best of "The Pied Piper Project". Thanks to D.E. Whitchurch III for writing this novel.

  The Pied Piper , 11/26/2005
Reviewer: Jim Riffel
Few authors these days have the ability to draw you into a book from the very beginning. Mr. Whitchurch is an author who posesses this ability. Were I to give one word to this writer's style, it would be "evocative". The characters are alive and present. You are there as the drama unfolds, experiencing at once their joys, sorrows, and excitement. I am looking forward to more from this author...
