Abstract:
Fifteen people tell of their extraordinary experiences with a life changing phenomenon called healing presence that revitalized their sense of well-being during stress, disease, and even normal life. Easy to understand research findings ground these stories and identify essential characteristics that mindful clinicians will want to develop, or avoid, in their journey towards becoming a catalyst for the healing presence experience. Several aspects of the psychospiritual nature of healing are revealed in brief discussions on topics of suffering, empathy and compassion, subtle energy and resonance, bodily felt and direct knowing, the vitalist tradition in medicine, and spiritual emergency.
