Abstract:
From Petition to Arms: A Story of Friends Caught Up in the American Fight for Independence is a tale of differing political ideologies and their effect on former childhood friends-two Americans and one Briton-who were separated in adolescence, but meet again during the American Revolution. Geoffrey Carrington sets out from Virginia to attend Eton College, leaving behind his two best friends, Bret Cole and Sally McConnell. Years later Geoffrey, now a British Army officer, returns as part of an armada sent to quell the rebellion. As the fighting unfolds, the friends find themselves torn between their own beliefs and their desire to resume their former relationship.

  A most unusual historical novel , 12/26/2006
Reviewer: L.K. Gabriel
From Petition to Arms reflects a level of research not often seen in a work of fiction. The author has created a most interesting story around a complex series of events. He has proven himself to be a skilled story teller as well as an outstanding educator.I had a hard time putting this book down.
