Abstract:
In a rather eclectic manner, the book reveals some seminal experiences this author has had at different points since 9/11, and especially since the war with Iraq commenced. This includes some research conducted, particularly with respect to salient psychological factors associated to the Abu Ghraib debacle. My involuntary deployment to Germany as a Reserve psychologist laid the foundation for this book, as I was exposed to so many unforgettable encounters with soldiers, spouses, and the staff I worked with. Difficulties I experienced in being allowed to publish while on active duty, problematic reentry into civilian life, and tough career decisions regarding the Reserve are also explored.
