Abstract:
“City Boy” That’s what his friends called Junior. Junior Wolfe and his parents lived in Detroit, Michigan. A place that is crowded and busy but, it was his city…a city he came to love. Then suddenly, without warning, his world crumbled before his eyes.

With his father’s loss of his job, his parents make a decision to sell their home and move to the country. Relying on an offer from an old army buddy for a job, which includes a deal on a farm house, his parents take the deal sight unseen and Junior is uprooted from his beloved city life and is transplanted to a one-horse town called Wannabe, Michigan.

Junior’s encounter with bats, cats, bees, noisy roosters, and an assortment of strange characters are both humorous and entertaining.

A well-written book for youngsters, teens and adults. There is no cussing or blue material. The writing is very descriptive, and you feel like you are in the little town of Wannabe. You can almost smell the chicken cooking during the town picnic. The characters are entertaining and you will probably feel like Roy is writing about someone you know. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and had a hard time putting it down. I wanted to find out where the gold was!
