The stories in the book are so vivid, I found myself transported to a black and white, Soviet world. This is a unique account of an under represented population of educated Soviet- born Jews who emigrated in the late 70s and early 80s.

I had the pleasure of meeting you and your mother in San Francisco when I met your son (I was the one who brought the Russian newspapers from the airport). I only heard you were an amazing mom for all that you did for the family, but reading this story, wow- you have an amazing story to share and you wrote it so beautifully, I could not put the book down, I did not want it to end! I am very happy and priviledged to have met you. All the best, Rose
