Dan Black, 1970s police officer, pursues answers to escalating crime. Through street encounters, tragic and humorous, he realizes people act according to their beliefs. Thus, views of origin affect crime

Abstract:
Through the encounters of a Police anchor car, Officer Dan Black and his partner Ben white, encounter a broad spectrum of societal misfortune from serious to humorous. A trouble past haunts Dan with grizzly flashbacks, as he struggles with life’s purpose. In his quest it becomes apparent crime is increasing; implying failure as a policeman.

If there is to be a cure he must find the cause. Focusing on greed, social decay, and people’s depressed loss of hope, Dan begins pondering: our beliefs motivate our actions, do they influence crime? Such would also imply our beliefs of God effect crime.

Wonderful talent for creating colorful, unforgettable characters -- who could forget Flo and the potato in the tailpipe? Dialogues are sharp, fast (as becomes a police story), realistic and to the point. Loved the book and can't wait for the second one.
