Abstract:
How can music for worship be selected? Why must certain kinds of music be rejected while other types be chosen? Does this selection process make any difference in the worship service and in the lives of Christians? These questions are addressed and answered by in-depth examination and exposition of six major passages of Scripture directly or indirectly dealing with pagan and Christian music. Eight standards of music and discernment are highlighted from Philippians 4:8, and a useful evaluation chart is offered on these eight standards in the selection process. Numerous graphs and diagrams appear in the book giving graphic, visual clarity, insight, and retention to the written text of the book.
