Abstract:
The coroner determines that construction tycoon Jake Marlow died of a heart attack, but a hurried note by a lab technician indicates that traces of strychnine were found in his blood. Bewildered, his wife Betty asks Vince Reynolds, a trusted engineer, to look at two dubious contracts she found in Jake’s wall safe; which she hurriedly jammed into a bank bag along with the other papers in the safe; including, mistakenly or not, an envelope containing lewd photos of two prominent men.

Thus Vince is drawn into a web of intrigue and mayhem where everyone is a suspect, including him.
