This accounting suits long duration and costly projects, such as nuclear power plants, offshore oil and gas facilities, large airports, highway systems, as well as NASA and military development projects. Accounting can be also executed at Strategic Level, referring to quarterly, instead of monthly Project Periods.
Like Business Accounting, this Project Accounting utilizes Journals, Ledgers, Trial Balance, and generates Financial Cost Statements. However, it also tracks planned and actual costs (generating Histograms and S-Curves) in Project Time-Frame.
