Abstract:
School improvement efforts driven by misguided policy have been woefully ineffective. After decades of education reform, countless billions spent, and honest effort by millions of educators student achievement nationally has not changed. Meanwhile student discipline problems and drop outs have increased dramatically. The problem is not the teachers, administrators, students or parents. It is not a need for more money. The system is the problem. We must reject the “we need more money” false solution. This book demonstrates how we can do much more and far better with less. It also offers ways to address inequities in the present system.
