Abstract:
Austin Clay travels to Paris on a project to rescue aging works of art which was begun
by his deceased wife. At the Louvre he meets Madeline, a museum employee, and an
adventure begins. In a country village they learn that three paintings stolen by the Nazis are
hidden in an old barn. After hearing of the strange death of the artist who died centuries before,
Austin begins to believe that the artist's works may hold clues to a five hundred year old
mystery. The French underworld learns of their possible discovery and soon Austin and
Madeline's hunt becomes an effort to survive. In the end, some win and some lose, but the real
winners are unexpected.
