Fifteen years ago, no story had ever appeared under the byline of Sandra Carpenter. A Social Worker for California’s Orange County until retirement, today 650 clippings fill her scrapbooks. She was a seven-year columnist for Gannett newspapers and six years of weekly travel columns for a Freedom newspaper, plus five Southern California magazines.

After her years at Whittier College, Sandra Holt married Ken Carpenter. They had two sons, Paul and Brent who provided grandchildren, Caitlin, Cole and Kristin. The Carpenters live in Oceanside, CA. The journalist’s dream had always been a book with her name on the cover. In 2000, Carpenter’s romantic suspense novel, CASA VERDE, was published by Rubenesque Romances.
