Anne Holmes Filson grew up hiking in the mountains of New England. She raised two children who also treasure the out-of-doors, and she enjoyed careers as a librarian, a high school teacher, and the founder of Elysium Writers Group. When she reached a half-century in age, Ms. Filson decided to set off on a solo adventure—the Offa’s Dyke Path of this book—to reflect on her life’s journey. Since then, she has hiked other Long Distance Trails with her husband and friends. Though she is an accomplished essayist and letter writer, this is her first book.
