Connie Kiosse was born and raised in a Greek-Macedonian family in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She left home at eighteen, joined VISTA, and eventually settled in Chicago where she now lives with her husband and two children. Connie was a founding member of one of Chicago’s first feminist newspapers, The Feminist Voice. She also began a women’s reading group that is now in its 28th year. A graduate of the University of Illinois, she is currently tutoring students in reading and substitute teaching. Her writing has appeared in college magazines and AIDS related newsletters. She is currently editing her first memoir, It’s All Greek to Me.
