The author, retired MSgt. Joseph Maddox, USAF, is an accomplished writer, poet, cartoonist, commercial pilot and TV broadcast engineer. He was born, and lived his formative years, in the Deep South, where he picked up the dialogue and ways of life that he accurately describes in his stories. His father, Joseph T. Maddox, was a published author. He now resides in Florida with his wife, Madeline.

Co-author, Diana Silverberg, a world traveler, is a descendant of Frank Lloyd Wright. She has had a multi-faceted career as a teacher, freelance writer, editor, and concert cellist. A graduate of UCLA, she furthered her studies while teaching English in Caracas, Venezuela. She retired to Florida, where she became active as a reporter for a local newspaper.
