The BocaYente was born in Boca Raton, Florida in 1998, her parents being a computer and a sense of humor. Her creator, Phyllis Dinerman, is the wife of a retired periodontist, the mother of two sons and a grandmother to three. Dinerman is a vibrant Floridian who plays tennis, has blonde hair (only her hairdresser knows for sure) and eats dinner only after “early bird specials.” The BocaYente’s Slice of Life was a featured column in the North Shore Jewish Journal of Salem, Massachusetts. Dinerman is a frequent guest speaker at women’s organizations and Jewish congregations. .
