J. Richard Wickenhofer’s passion for writing has dwelt within him for as long as he can recollect. As a child he wrote a series of stories that involved professionals who performed their jobs exactly the opposite way they were supposed to. These were appropriately titled “The Crazy Lifeguard,” “The Crazy Policeman,” and “The Crazy Fireman.” The protagonist of the latter story thought a fireman’s duty was to set fires, not extinguish them. He eventually destroyed an entire city with scalding hot popcorn after setting a movie theater ablaze.
