Walter Coffey was born in Joliet, Illinois, and is a graduate of Joliet Junior College and Loyola University of Chicago. Walter began writing at an early age; in addition, he has worked as a radio broadcaster, amateur filmmaker, and high school history teacher. He has been recognized for excellence in writing by the Quincy Writers’ Guild and his first novel, The Liberty Legion, was awarded Honorable Mention for Book of the Year (2004) by Foreword Magazine.
