Biography:
Charley Roll taught in the public schools for forty-five years, all but two of which were in rural Montana. Upon retirement, he wrote The Pedagogue–Educating Montana, drawing heavily from his experiences in which, to survive financially, he toiled in the dichotomous worlds of both teacher and section worker. Ultimately Mr. Roll overcame his bleak economic status and obtained two college degrees. Unfortunately, he passed away before this book was published. Subsequently, his son, David Roll substantially revised and edited the manuscript to its present form. David is now retired and lives in Granbury, Texas.
