The author is a survivor who has recently been displaced from her home in eastern New Orleans by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. Since the storm, she has lived in the Louisiana towns of Pineville and Alexandria and currently resides in the Simmesport community of Magnaville, which is not far from where she grew up in Lettsworth. She is a retired teacher who received her education at Southern University in Baton Rouge and University of New Orleans. Her favorite pastime is playing Scrabble Blast on the computer.
