Jean McMillan was born in Massachusetts in 1953 and devoted her childhood to “make believe” games and writing self-illustrated epic stories. In 1975 she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. Since then, she has worked in direct sales, mail order, and wholesale businesses selling gifts and decorative home accessories. During her career she has traveled extensively worldwide.

Jean and her husband live in Tennessee with their two dogs: a fawn French bulldog named Georgie and a black pug named Polly. Jean divides her time between a part-time design consultancy business and writing.
