After working as a civil servant for more than thirty years, and then working an additional eighteen years in the corporate world, I decided at the prodding of my late wife to write a fictional story based loosely, very loosely, on my own life experiences. My first book was not a financial success but the fact it was published made it a tremendous success for me. Encouraged by my family and friends, I decided to write another book based loosely again, on a vacation in an up state New York house that was used during the Civil war as a stop on the Underground Railroad.
