Biography:

Dr. Joseph P. Hester, a retired educator, has written over thirty books for students, teachers, and the general public, many of which are based on his research in critical thinking and ethics. He earned the B.A. degree in the Social Sciences from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1961, the B.D. and Th.M. degrees from Southeastern Seminary in 1967, and the Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Georgia in 1973 where he held a teaching assistantship in the Department of Philosophy and a research assistantship with the Georgia Studies of Creative Behavior. Creating Pathways for Leadership Development
Creating Pathways for Leadership Development is an outgrowth of Leadership Under Construction (Scarecrow Press, 2004) and, in many ways, a supplement to our 2004 book. As our thoughts changed about leadership, Darrell Young developed the idea of “pathways” while Joe Hester, developed a “capabilities template” for creating an “internal business/organizational culture.” Young’s guest lecturing at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and Hester’s writing and editorial work for the Journal of Values-Based Leadership at Valparaiso University have led to a redevelopment of previous ideas and the substance of this manuscript. read more
