D. Williams was born and raised in the same Philadelphia neighborhood in which she still resides. It wasn’t until her retirement from the Army in 2005 that she was able to devote time to what had been her passion since grade school: writing. “Writing,” she says, “is a balm to the spirit… My relationship with pen and paper is one of absolutes. I can unwind and have absolute trust that what I write will go no farther than the paper.”
