While traveling Route 66 with my husband and our Boston terrier, I felt the mystique and the romance of this highway. I decided to share “America’s main street” in “novel” form, pardon the pun. On our trip we met a large number of Europeans enjoying post WWII sites and discussing them from their own, slightly different perspective. That gave me an idea for sharing the iconic highway from the point of view of extraterrestrial beings that offered humorous and unusual comments on everything from the “roadside attractions” and mores of the day to religion.
